Lanarkshire charity The Haven have received a donation from the Central Scotland County Grand Orange Lodge and Motherwell District 25.

The Lodge handed over £500, which was collected as part of an annual event held in Motherwell during July.

Derek Milton, office bearer and treasurer of District 25 treasurer, said: “We wished to put something back into the local community, and The Haven is a very worthy cause.

“We are delighted to support them, and help in anyway with the work they do that directly benefits families in our local area.”

The Haven Wishaw is situated in the grounds of Wishaw General Hospital and provides support to families and their carers affected by a range of life-limiting illness.

Scott Cunningham, fundraising officer for The Haven, added: “Community support like this is vital for the sustainability and growth of the charity.

“We can’t thank the Central Scotland County Grand Orange Lodge enough for choosing to support The Haven. This generous donation will go directly to provide emotional support to those who are affected by life limiting conditions.”
