Drink driving chargeis denied
A Hamilton woman has denied driving while being more than twice the legal drink drive limit.
Margaret Mallon, of Jeanette Avenue, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, October 24.
She pleaded not guilty to driving a vehicle while having a breath/alcohol count of 51 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath – the limit being 22mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – on Craigthornhill Road in Glassford on Tuesday, September 26.
The 43-year-old further denied behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and making threats to police officers who were at the scene.
She also denied a charge of resisting, obstructing or hindering police officers Danielle O’hara, Angela Nee, Scott Malone and Steven Fox by attempting to run away and struggling violently with the officers.
Sheriff Andrew Mcintyre adjourned the case for trial until January 31, 2018, with an intermediate diet of January 4, and granted Mallon bail meantime.
