Footballers raise cash to go Dutch
Blantyre Vics 2007s are embarking on a six-month fundraising bid to take part in a football festival in Amsterdam.
The boys need to raise a substantial sum of cash and will look to secure a sponsorship deal to purchase training gear and subsidise the cost of travel.
The club are all set and have already organised several fundraisers including a race night, bag packing and football cards.
Head coach Alan Mcdonald said:“the boys are delighted to be heading to Amsterdam to participate in the football tournament in May.
“It is their first big tournament outside the UK but it costs a substantial amount of money. In fact, it will cost thousands of pounds.
“With this in mind we have a busy few months ahead as we embark on some serious fundraising but we would appreciate the help of any local businesses who wish to donate any funds to the pot.
“Indeed anyone who would be able to offer prizes for our race night or would like to provide sponsorship for the trip would be great.”
