History society meeting
Lanarkshire Family History Society will welcome guest speaker Ailsa Robertson, from Registers of Scotland, to their meeting tonight (Thursday, November 9).
Members will hear about an overview of the organisation, which is responsible for compiling and maintaining 18 registers relating to land, property and other legal documents.
The meeting takes place at 7pm in the GLO Centre, Muir Street, Motherwell.
A spokesperson said: “The main registers are the Land Register of Scotland and the General Register of Sasines.
“Property records can be a useful way of finding out more about the lives of our forebears.”
