Cash boost for gardening club

£500 will go toward buying plants

Larkhall and District Volunteer group’s gardening club have been on the receiving end of a cash boost.

The green-fingered group were given £500 from the Co-operative Society Ltd and will use the cash to buy consumable­s.

This money will allow the gardeners to continue with their project by purchasing the required plants, compost and gloves.

The group meet regularly on a Wednesday from 10am until noon, and new members are always welcome.

Larkhall and District Volunteeri­ng gardening club have taken part in various organised various events and activities throughout the year.

They have already held a successful spring fair, plant sale days and spring and summer planting. shrubs, bulbs,

And they have enjoyed outings to visit other garden areas, and at the moment are preparing for their fundraisin­g plant sale at the coffee morning event on Saturday, December 2.

Anyone who would like to join the group, filling pots and planters should come along on a Wednesday from 10amnoon.
