Villagers grab a crucial victory

Uddingston notched up their fourth win of their BT West League 2 campaign with a hardfought victory over Clydebank.

The Villagers got off to the best possible start, with their opening try in the first five minutes from young lock forward Clinton Boyd, and Gavin Kidd slotted home the conversion to give them a 7-0 lead.

Neither side were able to trouble the scoreboard for the rest of the half, but Keith Bradley rounded off some excellent handling to cross in the corner early in the second half, putting Uddingston 12-0 ahead. Kidd then slotted a penalty for a 15-0 lead. The game then developed into something of a battle, and Clydebank pulled a try back.
