KFC fans’ big flap as chicken supplies run dry

-

Fried chicken lovers throughout Hamilton were in a flap when they discovered the town’s KFC was temporarily shut.

The fast food outlet at the Palace Grounds closed its doors after they announced they had “no chicken.”

Over the weekend it emerged that KFCS all over the UK had been affected by a delivery hiccup.

Just over 600 stores had to close, although others remained open but with some items taken off the menu.

The town store was among one of many and remained closed until Tuesday.

Many expressed their disappointment at this news on our Facebook page.

One posted on Facebook and said: “You know it’s a bad day when KFC Hamilton runs out of chicken!”

Another said:“all I have thought about today is having a KFC for lunch, I get there and it is shut? Worst Monday ever.”

And another posted:“have you ever heard of a chicken shop run out of chicken? How does this happen?”

KFC apologised to customers for the problem, saying:“we’ve brought a new delivery partner onboard, but they’ve had a couple of teething problems – getting fresh chicken out to 900 restaurants across the country is pretty complex.

“We won’t compromise on quality, so no deliveries has meant some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours. We know that this might have inconvenienced some of you over the last few days, and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix – we’re really sorry about that.”
