Fun galore in Hillhouse
Hillhouse Community Centre hosted a range of events last week during the midterm break which proved to be extremely popular.
A number of fun, free activities were organised for parents, carers and children from Hillhouse and Udston.
The events were an ideal opportunity for all the family to spend quality time together and join in with the fun that had been organised by Community Links (South Lanarkshire).
And the first event was a teddy bears’ picnic on Monday, which was great fun.
On Tuesday, Community Links celebrated Pancake Day and everyone could decorate their own pancakes and take part in pancake-themed crafts.
The final activity day was on the Wednesday and celebrated Valentine’s Day. There were lots of themed crafts and everyone had the chance to make and decorate a cake and create their own pizza.
All the events were free to attend and breakfast, lunch and snacks were provided completely free of charge thanks to donations from Asda Hamilton.
Jacqueline Queen, community development worker for Community Links, said: “The mid-term events are a good way of getting the family out of the house for a few hours and having a bit of fun.
“The events are completely free of charge and, thanks go to Asda in Hamilton who provided everyone who came along with a free breakfast and lunch.
“There’s always loads happening at the Hillhouse Community Hub, so this is another great way for parents and families to find out what’s available in their local area.”
