Hotfoot it to Rutherglen for a piece of the action

-

If you are looking for ways to keep active then head to Rutherglen.

The world’s biggest trampoline park, Flip Out, is for all ages as it not only caters for junior jumpers, but also gives senior over 60s a new ‘leap’ of life.

The trampoline park boasts 200 trampolines and if you are feeling energetic you can battle it out on the battle beam, reveal your inner fighter on the ninja warrior course or defy gravity in the parkour arena.

And for the really adventurous, you can test your nerves on the bungee run or with a round of sports, like dodgeball, basketball or football.

Rutherglen is a town that is getting fit and healthy and where keeping active is priority among the community.

So much so that the Healthy ’n’ Happy Community Trust is working hard to create a community hub in the form of the No18 Community Hub which was previously a church hall.

Thanks to a cash boost from Asda Toryglen to the tune of £26,647, they will be creating a cafe for the people in the town.

It will also be the base for Camglen Radio.

Meanwhile, over in Cambuslang there will be lots of activities on the cards as the Whitlawburn Community Centre is being given a cash injection of £500,000.

The Big Lottery Fund Scotland is giving the centre the cash to carry out roof repairs, as well as internal improvements and the money will also see two members of staff employed at the centre.

The centre offers the community a range of services from an IT hub to a foodbank, parent and youth clubs and exercise classes.

There is a lot going on in Rutherglen and Cambuslang so grab your trainers and hotfoot it there to get active.
