Opening the conversati­on on death

A Hamilton funeral parlour are opening up their doors to mark Death Awareness Week (May 14-20).

Young’s Independen­t Funeral Directors at 114 Cadzow Street, who are members of the Good Life Good Death Good Grief Alliance, are inviting those who visit on Tuesday to Thursday, May 15 to 17, to open up the conversati­on regarding death, dying and the choices and support available to everyone.

The alliance is made up of organisati­ons and individual­s overseen by The Scottish Partnershi­p for Palliative Care.

And their aim is to raise public awareness of ways of dealing with death, dying and bereavemen­t and promote community involvemen­t in death, dying and bereavemen­t.

have, advise you on the options available to you or to have a cup of tea and a blether.

“On Tuesday, May 15, from 1pm to 4pm there will be cake, coffee and chat. On Wednesday, May 16, at 7pm there will be an informatio­n evening for care profession­als. On Thursday, May 17 from 1pm to 4pm there will be another cake, coffee and chat session.”
