Com­mu­nity cafe look­ing for ther­a­pists

Vol­un­teer ther­a­pists are be­ing sought by a Stone­house-based com­mu­nity cafe.

The Hope Cafe is held with the aim of pro­mot­ing pos­i­tive men­tal health and well­be­ing.

It of­fers re­lax­ation and med­i­ta­tion ses­sions, a writ­ing group, mas­sage, an info and a safe place to talk.

It is held in St Ninian’s Church hall on Vic­ars Street, and will be hosted to­day (July 12), be­tween 10am and 2pm.

The cafe is run ev­ery sec­ond week, with the fol­low­ing date ta­ble be­ing July 26.

The ex­ist­ing group are cur­rently ap­peal­ing for ei­ther a qual­i­fied or trainee beauty ther­a­pist, and / or an al­ter­na­tive ther­apy prac­ti­tioner.

Hope Cafe’s Beverley Fer­gu­son said: “Any time you have to of­fer be­tween our hours would be greatly ap­pre­ci­ated. We pro­mote pos­i­tive men­tal health and well-be­ing in La­nark­shire, how­ever the cafe is open to all.

“All vol­un­teer ex­penses will be cov­ered and we pro­vide ex­cel­lent train­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties. It will also be a very re­ward­ing ex­pe­ri­ence with an ex­cel­lent at­mos­phere of ca­ma­raderie.”
