Show time at Hydro
Hamilton Gymnastics Club were the biggest group to perform at the SSE Hydro on Saturday ahead of the European Men’s Artistic team final.
Over 70 talented youngsters exploded onto the competition floor performing ‘ Our Greatest Show’ inspired by The Greatest Showman hit movie.
The club were among nine in Scotland who took up an offer from Scottish Gymnastics and Glasgow 2018 to somersault into the limelight at the European Championships venue, taking the very same floor as some of Europe’s gymnastics elite.

“Over both weekends of the exciting gymnastics programme, Hamilton GC were lucky to be involved in various events.
“We provided a team of medal bearers – Olivia Muir, Olivia Thomson, Mairead Slevin, Iona Mcdougall, Caitrin Darroch and Lauren English – who played a major part in the medal presentations which was managed by one of our most experienced coaches, Lynn Deas.
“A number of our artistic and recreational gymnasts won the meet and greet with the GB Men’s Team.
“We were also lucky to be selected to perform in a showcase event prior to the men’s team final.
“Hamilton packed 74 gymnasts onto the floor and performed a showstopper to The Greatest Showman theme.
“Their video of the performance has now had over 15,000 views.
“Attending the European Championships has been a true inspiration for all, and the gymnasts are back in the gym full of motivation and desire to become the next best thing.
