Group marks 16 years of community work
Community Links will be celebrating their 16th annual general meeting at Hillhouse Parish Church next month.
Established in 2002, Community Links is a Lanarkshire-based organisation with a proven track record and passion for working with communities to inspire local champions to identify, develop and create long lasting community-owned change.
A community- led anchor organisation, their main activities include recruiting, training, and supporting local people to deliver a variety of projects, services, and opportunities for the benefit of developing local communities.
They have been busy over the last year organising and supporting community- led activities, including Our Place Our Plan working groups for neighbourhood plans, organising and planning summer programmes, supporting local people in the use of IT in the SELECT project, and introducing a free sanitary product initiative - not to mention their successful ‘ Back to School’ events and provided free school uniforms, items and accessories to over 325 people.
Community Links directors and staff would like to welcome guests to their 16th AGM to give local people an opportunity to find out all about who they are, what they do and their projects - particularly, Community Development work in Hillhouse, Udston, Burnbank, Strutherhill and Fairhill.
There will also be special recognition to local volunteers who regularly invest valuable time in many valuable Community Links projects - many of which would simply not run if not for their hard-work and dedication.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 5 in Hillhouse Parish Church on Clarkwell Road from noon.
