Hamil­ton Nat­u­ral His­tory So­ci­ety are hold­ing the se­cond pre­sen­ta­tion of their win­ter pro­gramme on Fri­day, Novem­ber 9, at 7.30pm.

Re­becca Craw­ford, from But­ter­fly Con­ser­va­tion Scot­land, will be at the Old Parish Church Halls on Leech­lee Road to present ‘Peat­land Restora­tion for Heath­land But­ter­flies’.

She will dis­cuss how many species of but­ter­fly are be­ing re­duced due to habi­tat changes, and the work be­ing done to pre­serve them.

A spokesper­son for the group said: “If you are in­ter­ested in but­ter­flies why don’t you come along to this pre­sen­ta­tion, meet the mem­bers and find out what fu­ture talks are on our win­ter pro­gramme and, if you are in­ter­ested in nat­u­ral his­tory or the ar­chae­ol­ogy of the Clyde Val­ley, per­haps you might be in­ter­ested in be­com­ing a mem­ber of the so­ci­ety.”
