Wilson in line for a top award
Councillor on shortlist
Hamilton South councillor Josh Wilson has been nominated for an award.
The SNP representative has been shortlisted in the New Councillor of the Year section of the LGIU (Local Government information Unit) Scotland Awards.
And the awards aim “to recognise and reward those councillors who go the extra mile for their constituents”.
Councillor Wilson is up against councillors Michael Cullen, Glasgow City Council; Elizabeth Robertson, Inverclyde Council, and Ryan Houghton, Aberdeen City Council.
He said: “It has been an honour to represent Hamilton South over the past year and I am grateful to have been shortlisted for an award.
“There have been many challenges to overcome, but I am delighted with some of our achievements as the new council administration. The Hamilton Town Centre Strategy being implemented last week is a good example of that.
“Most of all, I have enjoyed supporting my constituents and helping them reach solutions to their problems. I’ll continue to work hard on their behalf and I’m looking forward to assisting them in the years to come.”
The ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 29, at Edinburgh City Chambers.
