Fi­nal­ists named for­food awards

Hamil­ton has a num­ber of con­tenders in the fi­nal of the Scot­tish Asian Food Awards.

Blue Chilli is up for Thai Restau­rant of the Year at the cer­e­mony in Glas­gow’s Crowne Plaza Ho­tel on Mon­day, Novem­ber 19.

And Jade Palace is in the run­ning for Can­tonese Restau­rant of the Year.

The town’s Kurry Lounge is also nom­i­nated in the South West Scot­land cat­e­gory for Out­stand­ing In­dian Restau­rant of the Year.

Mean­while, Mother­well also has three fi­nal­ists.

In­dian Villa is nom­i­nated in the South West Scot­land sec­tion for Five-star In­dian Restau­rant of the Year.

Kam­ran Tan­doori is in the run­ning for Five-star In­dian Take­away of the Year.

And the Nippy Tung is up for Take­away & Home De­liv­ery of the Year.

The list of fi­nal­ists has been com­piled and an­nounced based on hun­dreds of nom­i­na­tions re­ceived by the pub­lic.

A spokesper­son for the or­gan­is­ers said: “We wish all our fi­nal­ists the very best of luck and are look­ing for­ward to a great night.”
