Sights on downing Saints

-

Matthew Kilgallon wants Hamilton to take three points from St Johnstone on Saturday and go into the clash against Celtic on November 24 with confidence.

The big defender captained Accies to a 1-0 win over Livingston on Saturday and says if they play like that in Perth they will at least be hard to beat.

With a gap opening up over bottom sides Dundee and St Mirren,‘killa’says it’s important to keep picking up points.

He said:“it’s important to open up a gap. You keep your eye on it, there are a lot of teams down there and teams you look at thinking, we’ve got to win those games. But while the gap gives you that little bit of breathing space, you can’t take your foot off the pedal.

“We have another game against St Johnstone on Saturday, away, and it’s a huge game, it’s just as big as it was on Saturday.

“If we take another three points it would be massive. Back-to-back wins in any league, wherever you are in the table, is huge because it’s a hard thing to do.

“Back-to-back wins would take us into the Celtic game and it would be one that we could go out and enjoy the occasion, but it’s also one we would want to win.

“There is a gap growing, another three points would be great, but St Johnstone will be thinking exactly the same. This is a game they will think they can win. But if we play like we did on Saturday, we will be hard to beat.”
