OBE for Patricia

Hamilton Advertiser - - NEWS -

A Hamilton woman has been recognised by the Queen for her hard work and dedication to her job.

Patricia Fernon works with the Ministry of Defence and was recently awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

The former St John Ogilvie pupil moved away from Hamilton in 1994 and down to Bristol for work.

In May this year, Patricia found out that her name was on Honours list - which she was over the moon about.

The 56-year-old travelled to Windsor Castle last month to meet Her Majesty and receive her OBE.

She said:“i was delighted when I found out in May that my name was on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

“Then get to go to Windsor Castle to receive the OBE and meet the Queen, it was a wonderful day, it was really magical for me.“
