There are a wide variety of performers heading to Lanarkshir­e in the new year – here are five of the best picked by the Ticket!

Motherwell Concert Hall, February 8. Musician Phil Walker promises to pay tribute to some of the greatest guitar heroes of all time in one.

Using more than 20 guitars, he will perform material from icons as diverse as Eric Clapton, Brian May, Slash and Hank Marvin in just one show.

Blue Rose Code, Motherwell Concert Hall, March 8. Talented singer Ross Wilson released his best album to date with The Water of Leith, addressing themes of love, loss, travel, home, accepting the past and embracing the future.

The record saw Ross nominated for Scots Singer Of The Year in the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2017 and win Scottish Album of the Year 2017, while it was also listed as one of the albums of the year by The Skinny and No Depression respective­ly.

Ross will be playing songs from that record plus new material at his Motherwell show.
