Shoplifter admits carrying stanley knife

A shoplifter had a blade when she was arrested after stealing from several Hamilton stores.

Jacqueline Mckenzie (39), of Strathaven Road, Hamilton, appeared at the town’s sheriff court this week.

She admitted stealing clothing from Asda, toiletries, cosmetics and razor blades from Semichem and clothing and household goods from Primark.

She also admitted unlawful possession of a Stanley blade.

The incidents happened on January 3 and 4 when Mckenzie was on bail for another matter.

Sheriff Alasdair Macfadyen deferred sentence until February 6 and Mckenzie was again allowed bail.
