Housing report praises council
North Lanarkshire Council says the latest Scottish Housing Regulator report confirms its housing service is achieving high rates of performance.
It is Scotland’s largest local authority landlord with responsibility for a housing stock of over 36,000 homes and one of only 12 local authorities not required to undertake any follow-up action.
Convener of enterprise and housing, Councillor Allan Graham, said: “Reports like this one allow tenants to compare their landlord’s performance across Scotland, and it’s pleasing that year on year our tenants and residents are receiving quality, and improving, housing services.”
The report shows rents are 19.9 per cent below the Scottish average. The average rent for properties was recorded at £61.20pw as opposed to the Scottish average of £76.20.
