Brewing up a success from Xmas gifts

-

Volunteers at a Stonehouse cafe have issued a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported a festive collection.

The Auld Stanehoose Cross Cafe made up parcels for those experiencing homelessness at this time of year.

An appeal was made for items such as blankets, underwear, hats, toiletries and foodstuffs, with the community handing in donations throughout December.

A spokesperson at the cafe said:“we would just like to say a big, massive thank you to all the kind people who donated gifts for the homeless, and also to all those who helped to wrap them.

“We would also like to thank everyone so much for their support over the year. We are a community cafe, and although we run as a business, we solely depend on what we take in. We are all volunteers and all proceeds that are brought in pay the bills to keep the cafe running for the community.”
