We could do with fresh faces – Killa

Matthew Kilgallon hopes Hamilton Accies return revitalised from the winter break with some new faces to bolster their challenge to avoid the drop.

The experienced defender says some of the players need to take a look at themselves in the mirror following their 2-1 derby defeat at home to Motherwell – and urged everyone to just keep working hard.

He said:“it was a terrible result for us, honestly. It was a chance to close up on Motherwell and be a point behind them.

“The team has lost again and it has given us another gap, going into the winter break.

“We’ve all got a lot to think about over these next couple of weeks. It should hurt us because we should have done better.

“Our record’s not looking too well, our last win was against St Mirren. Apart from that it hasn’t been very good.

“It might be an opportunity to bring some new players in, I think we need it.”
