BLANTYRE LIVINGSTON­E MEMORIAL PARISH CHURCH

The Reverend Murdo Macdonald will lead us in worship on Sunday, January 13, at 11.30am. All welcome to attend.

Sporting Memories Group will meet on Wednesday, January 23, at 7.30pm in the small hall within Livingston­e Memorial Church.

Sanctus service: The Fruit of the Spirit – Kindness will be held on, Sunday,- january 13, in High Blantyre Baptist Church. Refreshmen­ts will be served at 6.30pm and the service will commence at 7pm. All welcome to attend.

Kirk Session: Members of the Kirk Session will meet on Monday, January 14.

Brew and Blether: We continue meeting every Thursday between 10.30am and noon in the church hall.

It would be lovely to see you for a cuppa and a wee blether. Everyone will be made most welcome.

HAMILTON UNITED REFORMED CHURCH

On Sunday, January 13, our service will begin at 11.30am and we will be led in worship by Reverend Lindsey Sanderson, minister of Hamilton/east Kilbride Pastorate of United Reformed Church.

Refreshmen­ts will be served in the hall afterwards and a warm welcome given to all.

ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, UDDINGSTON

Our Saint Pope John Paul Oratory for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament opened again on Monday, January 8.

Masses and services from our parish are available on the web.

On Monday the Padre Pio Prayer Group meet after the 9.30am mass and a silent prayer vigil for life is held from 8pm to 9pm.

The SVDP meet at 5.30pm on Tuesdays and the RCIA continues at 7pm in the small hall.

On Wednesdays a divine mercy hour begins at 3pm in the oratory and a prayer and praise group from 8pm-9pm.

The prayer garden is open Mondays to Saturdays 10am-4pm.

Church cleaning is on Friday mornings after mass if anyone would like to help.

Sunday masses: Vigil 4.30pm, 10am, noon, 6pm.

Weekday Mass: 9.30am daily. Rosary: 9.10am daily.

Confession­s: Saturday 9am- 9.25am and after vigil mass.

GILMOUR AND WHITEHILL PARISH CHURCH

On Sunday, January 13, Claire will lead our worship at 10am.

ST JOHN’S CHURCH HAMILTON

Morning worship at St John’s Church in Hamilton will be led by the Reverend Joanne Hood at 10.45am this Sunday, January 13.

The evening service will be held at 6.30pm and all will be made most welcome at either service. The youth group meets at 7.30pm.

The sum of £700 has been donated to the Salvation Army from collection­s taken at the Christingl­e Service on Christmas Eve, the Watchnight Service and Christmas morning service.

Thanks to all for their generous donations.

All of the church organisati­ons have resumed after the Christmas holiday, details available in the centre.

Rehearsals for this year’s Passion Play began on Tuesday, January 8, at 7pm in Hamilton Old Parish Church.

The Passion Play was a huge success last year, as hundreds of people attended the open-air production which told the Passion of Christ.

Come along and join the rehearsals ahead of the 2019 production.

The midweek service, which lasts 15-30 minutes will be held in St John’s Church Sanctuary at 12.15pm on Thursday, January 10. Please come along.

St John’s Centre, Book Corner and Chapel open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm. All welcome.

HAMILTON OLD PARISH CHURCH

Our morning service this Sunday, January 13, is at 10.45am with worship being led by Rev Ross Blackman.

Creche and Sunday Live for our younger members during the service. Join us for a tea or coffee over in the halls after the service.

Today, Thursday, if you find yourself at a loose end come along to our film club at 1.30pm and see what’s in store.

Our Monday Club meet at 1.30pm this coming Monday and later in the day we have our badminton club and Saffronhal­l Singers at 7.30pm.

Tuesday the Brownies meet at 6.15pm, the banner group at 7.30pm and the Old Kirk Dancers at 7.45pm.

All sections of the Boys’ Brigade meet from 5.30pm on Wednesday with the choir meeting at 7pm.

HAMILTON WEST PARISH CHURCH

Our next service will be on Sunday, January 13, at 11.30am and it will be led by Claire Herbert Deacon of the Church of Scotland.

An open invitation is given to anyone who wishes to come along and join us.

You will be made most welcome at Hamilton West. Come a bit early and you can enjoy a coffee or tea and a chat before the service starts.

All organisati­ons have now resumed along with the Sunday school.

HAMILTON SOUTH PARISH CHURCH

Locum Reader Lynette Jardine will conduct the service at 11.15am on Sunday. Visitors will bee made most welcome.

The Bible study group will meet at 9.30am and on Thursday at 7.30pm.

All organisati­ons will restart in line with the school holidays.

We have added another ‘Twin Toilet’ to our list. It is in East Zambia.

This is an ongoing project whereby we donate enough money to install a toilet for those with none.

DALSERF CHURCH

Sunday Worship on January 13, will take place in Dalserf Church at 11.30am and will be conducted by Reverend John Stevenson.

The choir will meet at 10.30am in Dalserf.

Bible Study meets in Hamilton Dalserf on Monday, January 14 at 11am and all are welcome.

The Girls’ Brigade meet on Monday, January 14, at Rorison Church in Ashgill.

The gathering will meet at 12.30 in Hamilton Hall Dalserf on Tuesday, January 15.

The guild annual Burns Supper in Rorison on Wednesday, January 23, at 7pm.

QUARTER PARISH CHURCH

On Sunday our morning worship will be conducted by Rev Jim Munton at the usual time to 9.45am, please come along and join us in our worship.

Our Friday Friendship Lunch Club recommence­s this Friday, after the holidays, at 12.30pm.

Why not come along and enjoy a light lunch, a game of cards or dominoes or just a blether among friends. We look forward to seeing you.

HAMILTON BAPTIST CHURCH

The services on Sunday (January 13) at 10.45am and 6.30pm will led by the Rev John Shearer, former Pastor of Musselburg­h Baptist Church.

The morning service on Sunday will be followed by light refreshmen­ts in the church halls.

After the morning service, two members of the congregati­on will be available to pray with anyone feeling the need of prayer.

The guest speaker at the senior citizens meeting on Monday, January 14 at 2pm will be Michelle Kellet-smith of JJS in Maryhill.

The Soundroute­s Singers rehearsals recommence at 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 15, and new members are always welcome.
