Charity Sunday Sesh is back

-

Blantyre charity band Tyre Walk n Rollers are bringing back their ‘Sunday Sesh’for 2019.

The gig, which will take place in The Hoolets Bar beer garden, will once again be held in aid of Blantyre youth organisation Terminal One.

It will take place over the bank holiday weekend on Sunday, May 26.

However, this year the band are also asking revellers to make a donation on the day of a nonperishable food item for Hamilton and District Foodbank.

The four-piece act – made up of pals John Tierney, Alan Mcdonald, Kenny Mcinally, Joe Gallacher, of Toy Tin Soldier, and actor Scott Fletcher of River City fame – have proved a roaring success in the past and hope this event will again be well supported.

John told the Advertiser his: “the feedback we received after the Hoolets gig last year was outstanding and the generosity on the day eclipsed that, so we hope to make it another bank holiday weekend to remember.

“Tickets will again be just £5 and will go on sale from Hoolets and Terminal One in due course, and we’ll be sure to let everyone know when they are available.

“We are also adding a little bit this year so that together we can help two charities in one day as we have decided that if you are in the position to, could those attending please make a donation to our local foodbank. We will have a van parked up on the day that will take your kind offerings.

“It really is a no-brainer helping a charity for local young people and helping people in need of food donations, as well as having yourself a great day out with us and The Hoolets.”

Last year’s Sunday Sesh raised £2000 for Terminal One, meaning around 12 local young people can now attend the Hop-scotch Project.

Meanwhile, the band are also set to support The Haven charity, based in Blantyre, this year by taking part in the 2019 26-mile Kiltwalk.
