Girl needed treatment in blaze drama
A schoolgirl was treated by paramedics following a deliberate blaze at a house in Hamilton at the weekend.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the wilful fire-raising which took place at a house in Milton Terrace, Udston.
Officers say that at around 11.45pm on Sunday, January 13, emergency services attended a report of fire at a house in Milton Terrace, Hamilton.
The fire service extinguished the fire and two men aged 40 and 46, one woman aged 30 and one sevenyear-old girl were treated for smoke inhalation.
Following a joint investigation with SFRS, the fire is being treated as suspicious.
Detective Constable John Law at Cambuslang CID said:“thankfully no-one was seriously injured as a result of this cowardly act and it is vital that we trace the person or persons responsible.
“I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or witness a person or persons acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Milton Terrace.
“Anyone with information who could help us trace the person or persons responsible should contact police at Cambuslang via 101 quoting incident number 3879 of 13 January 2019.”
