Would you like to start the year with the chance to win getting your unsecured debts completely written off?

The Big Debt Pay Off 2019 means you could have a worry-free year with the chance to win getting your debts written off – regardless of the amount.

Last year, David Harris Lessels was the first lucky person who had his unsecured debt wiped out thanks to the Big Debt Pay Off 2018, run by Glasgow-based personal insolvency specialist Carrington Dean.

The call centre worker was stunned when he opened his door to TV star Gail Porter telling him the good news.

Gail is the ambassador of the Big Debt Pay Off as she herself can relate to money worries having declared herself bankrupt in 2017. Delighted David couldn’t believe it as his diabetes had led to him losing two toes and it meant he had lost his second income job, working in a cafe.

“Household bills, such as credit cards and council tax, kept piling up but I just buried my head in the sand and ignored them.

“When I saw the Big Debt Pay Off competition on Facebook, I entered straight away. I was willing to do anything to sort my finances out, although I had no idea I would actually win.

“My debts were so big that it would have been impossible to save. I’m now starting again with a clean slate – it’s a great feeling.”

According to a study by the Scottish Personal Debt Index, personal debt levels have made a huge jump over the latter part of last year.

They reported that the average level of unsecured debt rose by more than £5500 from an £49,678 in the previous quarter up to £55,438.

And these figures didn’t include the additional chaotic spending over the Christmas period.

With increases each year in spending and debt – from Black Friday, right through to the January Sales – people are finding themselves in more debt.

These mounting debts typically include bank loans, credit cards and, more worryingly, the problematic payday loans, with their overtly high interest-rates.

This means it comes as no surprise, with the ongoing temptations to live beyond our means, that even more borrowers are struggling to pay back the money that they’ve borrowed.

Carrington Dean are there to help anybody who’s slipped out of control to manage their money better, with a selection of ways to clear their debt.

Carrington Dean have helped more than 13 ,000 people throughout the Scottish regions to clear problem debt.

Areas around Glasgow, Fife, North and South Lanarkshire have been some of t he most affected.

They offer a range of solutions to the unique problems each of their customers experience.

They consider the income against outgoings of their customers’ day-to-day lives, in order to offer the best advice on how to take back control of their finances.

Their solutions utilise a range of different legal processes: Trust Deeds, Debt Arrangement Schemes (DAS), Bankruptcy (also known as Sequestration in Scotland), and Debt Management.
