Menopause musical back in Motherwell

-

Award-winning show Menopause the Musical is set to make a blazing return to Lanarkshire.

Following multiple sellout UK and Irish Tours, the ultimate girls’ night out, Menopause The Musical, is embarking on another tour, returning to Motherwell Concert Hall in February.

Starring Cheryl Fergison (Eastenders favourite Heather Trott), Maureen Nolan (The Nolans), Casualty’s Rebecca Wheatley and Katherine Lynch (RTÉ’S Wagons Den), the hysterical Menopause The Musical has entertained and inspired women across the world since 2001.

Menopausal or just in need of a laugh-out-loud kind of night, this show is a must see for all women.

Across the world over 11 million people (almost all women) have seen the show.

This hilarious celebration of women and The Change, is an all-singing, all-dancing comedy bringing together four women at a department store sale, who on first appearance have nothing in common.

However, the sale of a black lace bra soon stimulates comical female heart-to-hearts on hot flushes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex and plastic surgery.

The show is produced by Robert C Kelly, who has been in the biz for more than 35 years.

As well as Menopause the Musical, he has produced and co-produced shows such as Olivier Award winner Defending the Caveman, Pam Gem’s Piaf and 11 productions (including a West End run) of the comedy Mum’s the Word.

He has presented artists as diverse as Elaine Paige, Jane Mcdonald, Joe Longthorne, Elkie Brooks, Danny la Rue, Bobby Davro, Lena Martell, Dean Park, Andy Stewart, Keith Harris and Orville, Gary Wilmot and The Nolans.

Robert’s shows have starred such actors as Bernie, Linda and Maureen Nolan, Beverly Callard, Blythe Duff, Patsy Palmer, Imogen Stubbs, Jenny Éclair and Kim Hartman and he has given acting breaks to singers including Carol Decker (T’pau), Maureen Nolan (The Nolans), Lorraine Mcintosh (Deacon Blue) and Brianna Corrigan (Beautiful South).

For a fun-filled night at the theatre, complete with a cast of hormonal women, memory loss one-liners and innuendo-laden versions of pop classics, head to Motherwell Concert Hall on Thursday, February 21, or Friday, February 22, at 7.30pm.

It promises to be a fun-filled show for anyone who makes it along. Tickets cost £30. Call 01698 403120 to book or visit culturenl.co.uk/ menopause-the-musical-2
