-

Shotts Bon Accord kept hold of second-top slot in League One after a 2-1 win at home to Glasgow Perthshire.

Ally Martin headed Shotts in front in 41 minutes, and Danny Burns added a second from the spot after Chris Smith had been bundled off the ball.

Craig Crawford was then red-carded, and Ronnie Aitken pulled a goal back for ’Shire in 86 minutes.

The result keeps Shotts a point ahead of Ardrossan Winton Rovers, but the county side has two games in hand.

Blantyre Vics lost 3-2 at Greenock, with manager John Gibson telling the Advertiser:“we started poorly and trailed 1-0 at half-time.”

He added:“we improved in the second half, but didn’t take our chances.”

The defeat will be seen as a massive dent to Vics’promotion hopes.

Scott Mckean had a shot headed off the line in 17 minutes, and five minutes later Greenock took the lead through Stuart Higgins.

Lewis Macdonald twice had shots rebuffed before Mckean levelled in 57 minutes, and Kieran Coleman headed a Ross Mckechnie cross home to give Vics a 2-1 lead.

However, Garry Campbell was sent off in 72 minutes and Greenock took advantage with goals from Darren Kennedy in 77 minutes and Scott Miller two minutes later.

Bellshill lost 3-0 at home to Gartcairn, with manager Robert Sneddon saying:“it was disappointing – we were poor after a good run.

“There was no desire from the team.”

Gartcairn took the lead in the first minute through Kevin Ross, and Martin Shiels netted a second four minutes later. Ryan Donnelly grabbed their third in 68 minutes.

In the Championship, Larkhall Thistle remain pointless after 17 games, having been hammered 12-1 at Benburb.
