Robinson: Nothing tofear atceltic

-

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson says lack of a fear factor means they have nothing to lose when they head to Celtic Park on Sunday.

The Steelmen go to Glasgow’s east end protecting a sixgame winning run, and while Robinson acknowledges Celtic’s strength, he says the pressure is all on the champions.

He said: “We have nothing to fear. We’ve got nothing to lose at all.

“Celtic are a top team, they’re the best side in the league by a long way, and on their day they’re hard to play against, but we will go into it with an abundance of confidence. The young players have no fear, and we will try and take the game to them.”

A major factor in Motherwell’s recent success is the emergence of young players, but Robinson says they will never get above themselves.

“They stay grounded, they don’t get too carried away, and that’s what we keep telling them. Jake Hastie, David Turnbull, Allan Campbell and James Scott are all grounded boys and they will continue to develop here.

“I’ll stand in front of any parent and tell them this is the place to play football – not under-23 where they’re going to disappear into the game . They will play first-team football, keep improving, keep playing in front of the crowds, and they’ve got a good future here.”

On the chance of reaching the Premiership top six, Robinson said: “We’re still developing as a team, we’re very young and we will keep improving.”
