Glamour before the rain
Stylish ladies from across Lanarkshire headed to Hamilton Park Racecourse at the weekend to enjoy the most glamorous meeting of the season.
The well attended event was a huge hit with race-goers all set for some great entertainment combined with top racing.
Despite a huge downpour forcing the racing to be abandoned after the third race, many stayed to enjoy the evening’s entertainment that followed.
Hundreds of glamorous race goers headed to Hamilton Park on Saturday to attend ladies’ night.
This year’s event was kicked off with entertainment from Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle.
Joining Nadine on the night was international model and TV star Calum Best who judged the best dressed lady competition .
This year’s winner was Tina Wilson.
Visitors to the park were all set for some fantastic racing however unfortunately a downpour of rain forced the racing to be abandoned.
Vivien Currie, Chief Executive at Hamilton Park Racecourse, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Boë Violet Gin Ladies’ Night on Saturday.
“Despite the heavy and sudden rainfall resulting in the abandonment of part of the evening’s race programme, we were delighted that so many of our customers stayed with us to enjoy the rest of the night.
“Normally in racing, no refund is given in these circumstances because the third race had been completed but we as a team felt the crowd would share our disappointment in not experiencing the full card of racing.
“We have therefore offered as a gesture of goodwill a complimentary return ticket for a 2019 raceday of their choice.”
