With the good weather and slight relaxation of lockdown rules, Hamilton has seen an increase in the use of motor bikes off road.
The use of motorcycles on public footpaths and parks in Scotland is illegal.
If you do own and wish to use offroad motorbikes, please attend official motocross sites or utilise private property with the consent of the owner.
On June 20, a dirt bike collided with a beloved family pet whilst being used off road in a park at Woodhead Green. Due to the injuries, the family pet succumbed to its injuries, leaving the family devastated. If anyone has any information regarding the rider of this motorcycle, contact your local police. Additional patrols will be increased in these areas.
Elsewhere in Hamilton on June 16, police attended an address in Shaw Drive, after reports of a disturbance. Police were allegedly confronted by a 46-year-old male in possession of a knife and screwdriver. The male allegedly assaulted police before being arrested and held in custody for court.
On June 20, police attended an address in Farm Road where a 38-year-old female was arrested for assault after allegedly making attempts to stab a 62-year-old female. The person was held in custody for court.
On June 17, police attended an address in Victoria Street, Blantyre, due to reports of an ongoing disturbance, where officers were met by a male who was allegedly verbally abusive towards them and made attempts to assault same. The male was arrested and a report was sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Meanwhile, police attended an address in Cairnban Court, Larkhall, following a report of a robbery, whereby a 22-yearold male allegedly presented a knife at the complainers, demanding drugs. The accused was traced to a nearby address and held in custody for court.
