Foodbank needs your help to restock
Hamilton District Foodbank are in desperate need of supplies.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the charity has been ramping up its efforts to help those who rely on them most.
But the crisis has meant that they have seen a drastic drop in donations – combined with an increased demand for their service.
Isobel Graham (pictured), manager of Hamilton District Foodbank, told the Advertiser: “we have severe food shortages but don’t want to close, so we appeal to local supermarket managers, independent food suppliers, local food shops and the public – please, please, help us.”
Among the items desperately needed by the foodbank are UHT milk, tins of tomatoes, fruit, rice pudding, custard, meat, tuna, potatoes and vegetables.
They also require jars of pasta sauce, curry sauce, jam, coffee, dried rice, biscuits, chocolate, diluting juice and toiletries of all kinds.
The foodbank also welcomes any new offers of help with funding and local businesses, organisations and individuals interested in supporting its work can find out more at hamiltondistrict.foodbank.org.uk
Donations can be dropped off at the foodbank’s base at 22 Townhead Street, Hamilton, while adhering to social distancing measures.
The distribution centre is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, noon till 2pm.
