Ladies’ Night will be behind closed doors
Hamilton Park Racecourse have announced that one of their biggest racing events of the season will now take place behind closed doors due to COVID-19.
The popular Boe Violet Gin Ladies’ Night – which attracts around 10,000 race goers and was scheduled for August 1 – will now take place with no public in attendance.
In a statement on their website Hamilton Park said: “Like all of our customers, we had hoped that the current situation would have perhaps eased enough for our biggest event of the year to go ahead, however it has become clear that a public event of this scale will not be possible in the weeks ahead.
“Our entire team shares in the disappointment felt by everyone – racegoers, annual members and our valued partners – who had planned to join us for our flagship event of the year.”
The park are still looking to host the Ladbrokes Lanark Silver Bell Racenight at the end of August but are unsure of how restrictions will be at that time.
The statement continued: “Our fixture scheduled at the end of August, Ladbrokes Lanark Silver Bell Racenight, is still some time away, and therefore any bookings made for this meeting are still valid.
“We will of course continue to be guided by the industry and government guidance for future fixtures and will provide updates as they become available.
“Given the unprecedented circumstances we all continue to face, we’d like to ask our customers to maintain their support for Hamilton Park as we, like so many businesses, face the incredible economic challenges that are ahead of us.
“For customers who have purchased tickets or hospitality for any raceday that is cancelled due to COVID-19, we are offering a direct ticket transfer to the equivalent 2021 fixture or an alternative 2021 fixture of their choice.
“We understand that not everyone will be in a position to offer us this much-needed support, in which case we will honour a full refund within 28 days of the raceday as per our terms and conditions.”
