Stu­dents at Bedales are cel­e­brat­ing after se­cur­ing places at the most pres­ti­gious ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions in the world – in­clud­ing Oxbridge, Yale, and a num­ber of lead­ing mu­sic con­ser­va­toires and art col­leges – fol­low­ing the pub­li­ca­tion of A Level re­sults. This year’s high achiev­ers in­cluded Lily Sa­ma­rine, who gained three A*s in English Lit­er­a­ture, French and Rus­sian, as well as an A in her Ex­tended Project to meet the con­di­tions of her of­fer to study French & Rus­sian at Wad­ham Col­lege, Ox­ford; and Rachel Forsyth, who achieved three A*s in Bi­ol­ogy, English Lit­er­a­ture and Reli­gious Stud­ies, and an A* in her Ex­tended Project to se­cure her place at Pembroke Col­lege, Cam­bridge, to read English. Jet­ting off to the highly rated US univer­sity, Yale in Con­necti­cut is Lucy El­lis hav­ing achieved three A*s in Drama & The­atre Stud­ies, English Lit­er­a­ture and French, and an A* in her Ex­tended Project, to study Lib­eral Arts with a ma­jor in Mod­ern Lan­guages.

Maud Bon­ham-Carter will take up a place at Lough­bor­ough Univer­sity to study Sport & Ex­er­cise Psy­chol­ogy after gain­ing an A* in Dance, A in Drama & The­atre Stud­ies, B in Reli­gious Stud­ies and A* in her Ex­tended Project – she also re­ceived the school’s Ce­cily East­wood Prize for out­stand­ing ser­vice to the com­mu­nity.
