Petition calls for borough change

AN online petition is calling for the Hertfordshire suburb of South Oxhey to be made part of the London Borough of Hillingdon.

The petition says the move would benefit both areas. South Oxhey, it says, would have better transport links and Hillingdon could use the Watford suburb’s surplus land to meet housing demands.

The suggestion has been published on the website Change.org and by Monday had received 38 of the 65 signatures needed before it can be delivered to London mayor Boris Johnson; Hillingdon Council; Three Rivers District Council, South Oxhey’s local authority; and the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE).
