Trios shine in first triathlon event of three
HILLINGDON athletes competed in their first triathlon of a three-race series at the Hillingdon Outdoor Activities Centre in Harefield.
The race, which involved 80 entrants, consisted of a 700m lake swim, a 6km run and ended with a 26km bike ride.
Clark Schofield dominated the male race from pillar to post and finished with a winning time of one hour 15 minutes and 20 seconds.
Following Schofield in second place was David Knight who came home ahead of Nick Shaha in third.
The girls race was won by Kate Byrne in a time of one hour 21 minutes and 44 seconds with second place going to Holly Grundon.
The duathlon event which runs adjacent to the triathlon was won by Louise Fets in a time of one hour 34 minutes and nine seconds.
The second race in the three race series will be hosted at the same venue on Sunday 3rd July with entries still available. FANCY getting your boots on this summer?
Sunday league six-a-side football leagues are looking for teams to participate in their evening competitions throughout the summer.
Hayes & Yeading Football Club are hosting a Soccersixes tournament which will have kick-off times ranging between 6pm and 7pm.
Games will last 28 minutes and cost £28 per team. 12 teams are required to form the league so spaces are limited.
But as an incentive, Soccersixes are offering 11-a-side teams free sponsored training tops for next season if they play in the 6-a-side league through the summer.
