Former teacher guilty of pupil assault
A DISGRACED former maths teacher indecently assaulted a female student at Northwood School.
Anthony John Pryor, of Pinner, was found guilty of one count of indecent assault at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday November 11 after a fourday trial.
The 73-year-old avoided an immediate jail term after he was given a six month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and will be on the sex offenders register for seven years.
He has been ordered to pay costs of £1,200.
In the 1980s, when Pryor was a maths teacher at Northwood School in Pinner Road, Northwood, he indecently assaulted the victim who was a teenager. The crime was not reported to the Metropolitan Police until 2014, when an investigation was launched by officers from the Child Abuse Investigation Team in Hillingdon and Ealing.
Northwood, formerly known as Potter Street, is a comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 18 near Northwood Hills station.
