OLD JACK BURTON SAYS...

THERE’S still a lot of love for John Carpenter’s 80s classic, Big Trouble in Little China.

In this new comic series, penned by the movie master himself, we join an old Jack Burton on his last adventure in the Pork-Chop Express. Set in the not to distant future, when hell has literally come to Earth.

With art by Jorge Corona, look out for some beautiful variant covers by Sam Bosma, Michael Adams with Marco D’Alfonso, Will Robson and Paul Pope.

Big Trouble In Little China: Old Man Jack is out September 20.

A DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE

IT seems not everyone was pleased to hear JJ Abrams will be directing Star Wars Episode IX.

Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was in the frame for the final chapter in the saga, but in a twist last week it was revealed Abrams, pictured, the man behind The Force Awakens, had been appointed.

Despite the financial and critical success of that movie, disgruntled fan Matt Vela has started a petition calling for Lucasfilm to “Remove J.J. Abrams as director of Star Wars Episode IX”.

He wants Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy to replace him, saying it’s the only way to prevent Episode IX from ‘becoming yet another rip off of the original trilogy’. It currently has 3,727 signatures.

GOOD OMENS FOR SERIES

NEIL GAIMAN whetted the appetite of Good Omens fans with a first glimpse of David Tennant and Michael Sheen, pictured, in the hotly anticipated TV adaptation.

Taking to Twitter, Neil praised David and Michael as “amazing”.

“This is them in the opening scenes, 11 years ago, in St James’s Park,” he tweeted. “David and Michael, demon & angel.”

The six-part Good Omens series is based on the 1990 collaboration between Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. It tells the tale of the demon Crowley, and the angel Aziraphale joining forces to prevent an apocalypse.
