Reid to depart for Premiership side Gloucester
JORDY REID will leave Ealing Trailfinders at the end of the season to join Premiership outfit Gloucester.
The Australian arrived in London from Melbourne Rebels ahead of the 2018/19 campaign and has made a huge impact during his 37 appearances.
Forming a formidable partnership in the back-row with the likes of Kieran Murphy and Rayn Smid, Reid started in the memorable Championship Cup final triumph against London Irish, but will be heading to Kingsholm and the Premiership next year.
The flanker had nothing but positives to say about his time at Trailfinders Sports Club.
“I’m very thankful to Ealing Trailfinders for giving me a chance after I had been out of the game for a year with a back injury,” he told the club’s website.
“I’ve loved my time here and have really enjoyed playing rugby for this club.
“I’ve made some great friendships over the past two seasons, which will make it sad to leave.
“It’s been a great environment to be a part of and coming into the last block of the season, it would be great to finish my time here by achieving the goals we had set out at the start of the season.”
Director of rugby Ben Ward expressed his disappointment at Reid’s departure.
“We are gutted to lose Jordy, but delighted for him and the opportunity ahead of him,” he said.
“He gave everything on the pitch and has been a valued member of our squad over the past two years
“He will always be welcome back to Ealing Trailfinders.”
