The wounds from words are very real

-

WHEN I was bullied at primary and secondary school in the 60s and 70s I was told by my teachers to say “sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”

This was garbage then and it’s garbage now!

The singer Cher has line from a song, “words are like weapons they wound sometimes.”

Weak pathetic clueless gutless incompetent teachers give bullies the message that bullying will not have consequences; except for the victims as bullying breaks the human spirit.

Two hundred children take their own lives every year due to bullying. This is why Cllr Patel and his 12-year- old son had to endure verbal abuse on a train back from a football match.
