Bees doubters should not turn on manager

-

I AM writing this letter in connection with the letter ‘Brentford board scores own goal’ by K Francis of Hanwell (February 9).

Firstly, l am not a Brentford fan, although l live in the area. I support a team from North London.

I must confess I had to laugh when I read the letter. I for one loved it when the Bees got promoted after years of trying.

Most teams from the Championship normally get relegated the next season – just look at Norwich.

The Premier League is the toughest football league in the world and therefore with no disrespect the Bees do not have Premier League status yet, and would be favourites to go back down again.

However, they now have Christian Erikson, a former Spurs player, who in my eyes is the best player to ever wear a Bees shirt – he is brilliant at free kicks.

So even if they survive the Premier League drop, which they will, just give them time and they should be fine.

All these doubters must be Bees fans otherwise they would not be writing about sacking the manager.

But the one thing that annoys me is fans always get angry with the manager.

There are 11 players on the pitch. It’s up to them to follow what the manager says.

So to all Bees fans, keep faith. If you survive this season, get new players in the summer and you will be surprised for next season. Arthur Gray
