DINO DISASTER
DINOSAURS: THE FINAL DAY WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH BBC One, Friday, April 15, 6.30pm
■ WITH new fossil discoveries every week and the continuing popularity of the Jurassic World films, our fascination with dinosaurs shows no sign of abating and this new documentary tackles the extinction event that wiped them all out. David Attenborough’s measured tones guide us through the final hours of the dinosaurs’ long reign before the Chicxulub asteroid, which was bigger than Mount Everest, collided with Earth 66 million years ago. We follow the research of paleontologist Robert DePalma over three years as he leads a dig in North Daktoa and unearths a remarkable horde of fossils which help us to understand the final moments of the Cretaceous period with impressive visual effects bringing the final day of the dinosaurs to life.
