Motorcyclist killed in horror ‘hit and run’
A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed after a horrific ‘hit and run’ incident near Heathrow Airport at the weekend.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Holloway Lane, Sipson, on Saturday with the Metropolitan Police confirming a man was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle failing to stop.
The man killed has since been named locally as 33-year-old Chris Bayliss.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 10.21am on Saturday May 7 to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcyclist in Holloway Lane, West Drayton.
“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. The motorcyclist – a man aged in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are yet to be informed. The car failed to stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.”
Holloway remained closed in both directions for more than eight hours due to the accident, causing major delays along the route.
