ABBA NIGHT Channel 5, Saturday, May 22, from 7.15pm

IN the wake of Eurovision and as the ABBA Voyage experience gets set to open at the ABBA Arena in Stratford, Channel 5 devotes a night to the Swedish pop maestros. It kicks off at 7.15pm with ABBA: The Movie, a mockumentary in which an inept radio DJ tries to get an interview with the band as they tour Australia. At 9.20pm, ABBA: The Missing 40 Years is a documentary that looks at what the band members did after they split in 1982. At 10.45pm, Greatest ABBA Cover Versions Ever looks at how other acts have approached doing their own takes on ABBA’s classic pop songs. And if you’re in the mood for even more music after all that, The 70s Greatest Pop Groups will take you for a trip down memory lane at 12.10am.
