The future revealed: your essential guide to OCTOBER

- By Peter Watson

October in the stars.

LIBR A 24 September – 23 October

Nobody could blame you for wanting to get to grips with practical matters requiring some investment on your part. That does not mean, however, that you should be expected to bankroll this while relatives or companions make no contribution themselves. The sooner you raise your objections – politely, but firmly – the better. lucky day 28th – barriers are lifted and your views meet no resistance.

SCOR PIO 24 October – 22 November

Before tackling a delicate issue with a friend or family member, make sure you’ve checked the facts. It would be all too easy to create shock waves by misinterpreting what has been said, or misquoting the other person concerned. Mercury opposing Uranus warns against initiating a potentially touchy discussion on a whim. lucky day 23rd – light is shone on areas in which you’ ll make progress.

SAGITTARIUS 23 November – 21 December

At first, you might not enjoy being part of a group of like-minded people planning an event or trip. You’ll think you would prefer your own company and nobody else’s. But, after further consideration, you will realise you stand to get far more out of it by being sociable, which could be a theme for the entire month. lucky day 7th – you’ ll have a willing audience when you need it most.

CAPRICORN 22 December – 20 January

Drawn though you might be to an ambitious project, you will gradually become aware of the many responsibilities and irritations as well as the benefits. You must weigh these up very carefully, as a Sun-Saturn clash is warning you not to assume you can enhance your reputation without putting in a huge amount of effort. lucky day 15th – restrictions placed on you unfairly will ease.

AQUARIUS 21 January – 19 February

Exciting journeys or ventures will appeal enormously. But you will not be able to entirely abandon professional or financial issues, on which you must have a say. It’s important, therefore, that you let everyone know that you’re never far away and that you certainly don’t expect them to take key decisions in your absence. lucky day 3rd – rather than feel tied to one spot, you’re on the move.

PISCES 20 February – 20 March

Exploring new ideas will strengthen your academic or emotional resources. However, you must listen when a confidante hints that you’re becoming slightly obsessive about it. Knowing when to exercise self-restraint is crucial. You could also distract yourself by concentrating on areas in which you could make money. lucky day 17th – two allies speaking with one voice provide answers.

ARIES 21 March – 20 April

Important matters need to be discussed with a partner or loved one. Make a start before mid-October, when the Sun’s tie-up with Jupiter should help you collect your thoughts and express them in a clear and considerate manner. You have no doubt avoided this kind of confrontation in the past and mustn’t do so again. lucky day 4th – by initiating a serious debate, you get what you want.

TAURUS 21 April – 21 May

Long-held doubts and fears about your abilities within a particular field mustn’t be allowed to plague you any longer. Somebody influential will set you a challenge to which you must rise and, in doing so, put on display the best version of yourself. Once you begin to have faith in your talents, everybody else will too. lucky day 14th – analytical thinking gives you a firmer grasp of problems.

GEMINI 22 May – 21 June

Putting all your energies into run-of-the-mill tasks and duties will achieve a great deal and bring peace of mind. You must also have the time and space in which to indulge yourself in a way that’s rarely possible. An invitation or suggestion coming your way from 4 October onwards must be taken very seriously indeed. lucky day 27th – moving forwards after feeling stuck lifts your spirits.

CANCER 22 June – 23 July

Once you’ve unearthed and processed sensitive material, you must refuse to let it impinge on your closest relationship. Try to remember that the past has been and gone, and that whatever is occurring between yourself and this special individual is what counts. There’s such a thing as probing too deeply and regretting it soon afterwards. lucky day 13th – self-confidence replaces insecurities of the past.

LEO 24 July – 23 August

The feeling of being put upon is unlikely to go away, especially with Pluto antagonising Venus. But don’t protest too vigorously. Instead, communicate your concerns to whoever is involved and make it clear you would like the two of you to work together to improve the situation. Being collaborative rather than defensive is the answer. lucky day 21st – bills or budgets will cease to be a no-go zone.

VIRGO 24 August – 23 September

Recent events have given rise to some existential anxiety in others, and perhaps in yourself. Be open to information arriving, quite unexpectedly, from unusual sources, and be prepared to wander into unfamiliar territory. This phase in your life should allow you to come to terms with some of the big, unanswered questions. lucky day 2nd – major obstacles are no longer the problem they were.
