ERIK MADIGAN HECK
A celebrated artist and contributing photographer for Bazaar, Erik Madigan Heck began taking pictures at the age of 14, after receiving his first camera as a gift from his mother. Since then, he has gained a master’s degree in photography from Parsons and exhibited his work internationally, from Sotheby’s in London to galleries in New York, Toronto, Amsterdam and beyond. For our art issue, he has photographed his wife and muse Brianna in their garden in Connecticut.
A memorable exhibition ‘Anselm Kiefer at the Royal Academy, or Michael Borremans’ last show at
Zeno X Gallery in Antwerp.’ An artwork you wish you owned ‘The Public Gardens: Young Girls Playing by
Edouard Vuillard.’
A gallery you would like to stay overnight in ‘The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.’ Three artists you would invite to a dinner party ‘Caravaggio, Salvador Dalí and Diane Arbus.’
