LIVED EXPERIENCE
Eileen Cooper captures the beauty in the quotidian After four decades of working purely from imagination and memory, the painter and Royal Academician Eileen Cooper began drawing from life earlier this year. She invited
young artists such as Annie Kevans and friends including Bazaar’s features director Helena Lee (pictured here with her daughter Margot) to sit for her new body of work,
which captures low-key yet intimate moments of women in their own space. These tender vignettes, which include a mother teaching her child to read and a girl combing her hair, offer an empathic exploration of femininity and the female experience. ‘Personal Space’ is at Huxley-Parlour Gallery (www.huxleyparlour.com)
from 16 October until 16 November.
