‘You have to fight to become an artist,’ Maria Grazia Chiuri tells us this month. ‘It isn’t easy.’ Over the centuries, this struggle has been particularly arduous for women, who have consistently been denied the acclaim that is their due. In her capacity as the creative director of Dior, Chiuri has used her platform to redress this imbalance and elevate contemporary female talents.
