HILLINGDON PHIL TUNE UP FOR MUSIC FROM THE POLAR EXPRESS PLUS FESTIVE SONGS AND CAROLS
MUSIC from The Polar Express and classic Christmas films features in a festive concert next month.
Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to an evening of Christmas music guaranteed to get you into the festive mood as the big day approaches.
The concert will include favourite Christmas melodies, songs and carols with audience participation.
Festivefilm music will also be featured with a selection from the soundtrack for the popular animation The Polar Express and a medley of themes from other festive film favourites including Home Alone, Miracle on 34th Street and The Nightmare before Christmas.
Music from The Snowman and Handel’s Messiah will also be performed, alongside arrangements of the 12 Days of Christmas and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
And the sound of young voices will features too with the choirs from Oak Farm Junior and Oak Wood School choirs.
The Christmas Concert will launch the 33rd Season for the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra which is now well established in the local area with over 60 registered members, having performed an incredibly wide and varied repertoire of works over the years.
In addition to countless concerts at local venues throughout Hillingdon, the group has also performed at some of London’s most prestigious venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Southwark Cathedral.
In July 2011 the group celebrated 25 years of music making at the Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square.
